At first I didn't think I liked it, but now I love it. Always been a fan of Vettes. I got to see one at the Fair too and loved it. GM made a great car.

For the taillights comment, well they had to keep the Camaro taillights look somewhere in their vehicles now that all the camaros look like preludes LOL!!

My dad is looking at ordering a c7 and the dealer is gonna be at msrp on it

Looks like the media will be able to release information on the C7ZO6 after 12am. Word on the street so far is 620hp and 650tq. Jalopnik has pics floating around of camouflaged cars with wider fenders and more aggressive tires!

Best get used to it because that's the only view you will see.

LOL, his car is faster than yours and has a better chance of beating the C7 than you do.

I never claimed I would be able to beat a C7 :)

I don't care about having the fastest car. Never did, never will. Just not my thing.

LOL @ comparing a modded car to a stock car.

Mustangs are boats compared to vettes, that is all

Those C7's sure do look great in person!

Garner, you and your dad both have sweet rides. Tell him to please remove that front plate!

Why remove it. He will have holes there now, so he might as well leave it.

re-rx7 01-10-2014 11:38 PM

Boats he says with 150-200lbs diff in weight.

Meh, I'd rather have the two holes there that you can barely see versus that big ugly plate. That's how I'd rocking my turd.

Check your math.

http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/cor...ub=convertible

http://www.edmunds.com/ford/mustang/...tyle=200465246

That's a 373lb difference. Also including a much lower COG, far better aero, better cornering ability, IRS, better tires, the list goes on.

Guessing you haven't driven a Corvette. A stock Corvette is far more a nimble car than a Mustang with all the BMR goodies possible.

From what ive seen the vette weighs around 3400 -3450 lbs per Motortrend test and the mustang weighs consistent 3600-3650.

C7s are pretty customizable. MT, R&T etc are not going to use the bare bones cars(keeping in mind a bare bones care is still far more advanced and loaded than most fully loaded cars), in test comparisons.

"GM lists the base Stingray at 3,298 pounds, 90 pounds more than last years model." Automobile magazine September 2013.

Also keep in mind that his Garner's car is still on stock suspension IIRC. Going from a stock Corvette to a stock Mustang absolutely feels like you're in captaining a boat. My C5 was planted at all times. Getting in the Mustang with stock tires, etc was definitely a sketchy experience especially over broken pavement. It's definitely much better now though :).

Plate is gonna stay, he doesn't wanna get in trouble with the cops. Convincing him otherwise didn't work lol

As far as boat, chevy says a 2lt non z51 weighs 3298, ford says mine weighs 3675. But my boat comment was mainly the appearance of them. Our cars are a foot longer, and about 7 inches taller; although in my pic my car looks even taller than that.

re-rx7 01-11-2014 01:59 PM

Thats what happens when you have a backseat. LOL

The widebody C7 does look better than the base model.

Stangmaster281 01-12-2014 01:42 AM

^ I'd like to take that beast around the circuit of the americas a few laps. Looks awesome.

Its a sexy car, but its a Chevy.

NZERO21 01-15-2014 01:05 PM

As great as the stingray may be out to be, I had the privilege of driving the Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo, sooooooo......... No comparison.

More on ZO6 pricing.

Straight from the man in charge, "As Tadge Juechter himself put it—in between explaining the aerodynamic value added by the tiny spats ahead of each front wheel and detailing how the C7.R’s three-percent fuel-efficiency bump (thanks to direct injection) will save one pit stop over a 24-hour race—“if you could afford the old Z06, you’ll be able to afford the new Z06.”

Link: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...d-z-0-6-page-2

So to all those saying that the ZO6 will start at 6 figures... you can buy me lunch.

They said the samething about the Z28. now it starts at 75k vs 56k like originally planned.

I see on Chevrolet.com that it says "$75,000 as shown" I'd hardly take that as a starting price.

Tadge also said that if you can afford a Grand Sport, you can afford a Stingray, which was right on the money. C7 base car starts right about where a Grand Sport is priced. Go to this link and look at the used car prices: http://www.corvetteworlddallas.com/v...0Grand%20Sport.

Now go to Chevrolet.com and see that the C7 starts at $51,000.

Used GS with over $10k going for more than new Stingrays.

I like Twisted Root btw :)

re-rx7 01-19-2014 03:56 PM

There any options really for the Z28.

garner 01-19-2014 04:19 PM

Eh his statement could also mean that if you trade in your current z06, you can afford the new one. Pricing will be interesting though
