Meet Up for photos? Saturday Northpark Mall at 9am!

Ryan and I are going to meet up on Saturday around 9am at the top deck of the Macys lot at northpark mall and take some pictures! Anyone else is welcome to come too! Any good photo recommendations in this area? Maybe we can do lunch after that.

You would think I would know since I live in Plano, but I am not good at picture locations. I don't know Frisco well enough, but there are a couple stadiums we might be able to do if those are good for it (Dr. Pepper Center, and there is another off the Toll and Main further down).

I don't see why why not. I'd like to learn how to do that. I understand the basics of it, but would like to see how the other board photographers do it. The car only needs to be moving like 5mph in order to do it.

I'll only be able to stay until about 11:30 or so. Blownaltered's son has a birthday party at 12:45 in Wylie.

It's easier at faster speeds, because you won't have to hold the camera still as long.

45-65mph is usually what i do.
Everyone has their own way, but typically for day time ill shoot in shutter priority with a low iso and play with the F-stops depending on shot or angle.

That looks great! I'm still at the very early stages of learning. I haven't played with the shutter speeds at all quite yet. Still messing messing with the other settings and the F-stops to see what works best. Most of mine so far have been portraits of my little girl and some action stuff of her playing. The lighting indoors versus outdoors is tricky. Until I started this process, I never paid attention before to all the different colors in lighting, especially when you are indoors. lighting is super important. time of day is as well. hopefully its cloudy. overcast is your friend. and as for the yellowish lights, you can compensate by adjusting your white balance. also by shooting in raw so that photoshop can adjust it also when you bring it into your computer to edit.

I think a good place would be the outdoor shopping center off of dnt and 121. They have a little pond in the middle of the square. I think a good photo could be taken there.

you talking about the shops at legacy? only problem i see with that is there isnt a lot of room to take the pictures. its a pretty busy area.

I just thought of a decent backup location if we are worried about security and room at Northpark, not sure if it is any good for pics, but in downtown Plano there is a park with an old train at it, it's is on the West side of the Dart Rail tracks off of 15th street. It gets busy though so it may be a little risky.

Some great panning skills here, takes some practice. Can almost in vision this LS carving that corner a few seconds before this was shot.

Id like to pick up a grip rig to make rolling shots a little easier.

Security was definitely there. I think the came by every 15 minutes the entire time we were there.
