Does any body on here have a blackhawk k&n intake? Im trying to choose betwen airaid and k&n. Ive had airaid before, just wondering how the blackhawk performs without a tune.

Why do you say that?

Performance gains are very marginal compared to stock air box.

With the blackhawk or just in general?

In general. Depends on who you ask. Dyno gains and et improvements are very small. Just not worth spending 300+ in my opinion unless you just want to "pretty up" under the hood.

Completely off topic, are your hood vents black? Thought i mightve seen you the other day.

They haven't been black for probably 6 months. They were once plasti dipped, then I thought I was going to get the carbon vinyl inserts and just haven't gotten around to doing it.

Oh okay gotchya. Wonder who it was then.
Im still pretty new to fixing up my mustang, so performance wise what should I do next? Also, people have been asking if I use 93 octane. I dont. Is that bad? I use injector cleaner with every other oil change.

Idk on the premium question. I'd say no unless your tuned as it delivers advertised power on 87.

Tune and offroad mid pipe are your best bang for buck mods on these cars. Unless you're tuned you don't need 93.

If you have/want to have an intake, get the airraid. Make sure you order the one with the Venturi tube insert, because you can always remove that when you get a custom tune.

I already have my eyes set on a bama, so what brand midpipe would you recommend?

I already have flowmaster mufflers on it, and i like them pretty well.
I had a JBA ORX and steeda intake with the 93 bama race tune. All together I had like $700 into it. Made 410rwhp Everything fit well and I bought everything used except the Bama tuner.

Lethal performance is a good one. It is all one piece so there are no issues of having potentially leaky cat delete sections.

I use premium fuel only, the price difference is not that much per tank and when you use the cheap stuff you loose a little bit of power about 20hp because the computer takes out timing to prevent detonation. Run a tank of 93 and see if you notice a difference. It shouldn't hurt anything using 87 but I don't see the point also if you get a tune you will probably need to run 91-93 octane anyway.
