i like the hydro dip but the kits are around 100$ :/

BV600 have any of that stuff left over you would want to sell for cheap?

plati dipping spray cans are around 10-15 it would be a flat or matte black finish after spraying it.

twoquak i dont know what you paid for a shop to paint yours but i dont think i would go that route...

3m vinyl at like big worm is 30$ but doesn't cover the whole vent.

ideally though someone is looking for a set of white ones to go with a black and white theme, while i want some black ones to go with a white and black theme :p

I think there are a couple of local hydro dip places in DFW. I had one of them quote my entire interior around 250. Check out Texas Hydrocoating.com. Can't remember if those were the guys that quoted me. There is also a pretty good shop somewhere near Texas Motor Speedway.

I plastidipped mine the week i got my car 14 months ago. Looks exactly the same as day one. The texture is virtually identical to the texture on the plastic on your mirror, front chin spoiler, etc. I love it and everyone else doesn't believe I sprayed it.

Thanks dallas that is some helpful advice.

hydro dipping is going to be 100$ whether i have someone do it or get a kit...

vinyl will only cover part of the vents and is 30ish...

looks like i'll be picking up a can of plasti for like 8$ and doing it.

and no one so far wants to trade :(

White vents on a black car is a hard sell I don't think it would look good. Plastidip is the cheapest way to go and if you take your time it will look good.

Most hydro dip kits are around $100. But they put a lot of shit in the kits that you don't really need like a dust mask and a small touch up brush. I searched around the web and found that I can get plenty of stuff to dip all my shit for around the same price. I could just use one of the big plastic storage bins that I have in the shed. I'm going to go ahead and get some hydro graphics stuff and play with it and see. I'll do my coil covers first so that if I F--k up at least they are under the hood where they can't be seen. When I get all the shit in I'll post some pics.

i was told by a guy who hydro dips locally

"The finish is actually a new paint job plus one step which is the dip. It's finished with an automotive clearcoat. So to answer your question, it can't be removed. It would have to be repainted to get rid of the image.

I do the prep work. I just need the parts as they are."

i wasn't aware of this with hydro dipping and i think i'd rather go the plasti dip.

white vents on a black car would be a hard sell if they dont have a black and white theme going on, but wishful thinking :suicide:
