View Full Version : Squeak from Suspension in Rear

Yesterday started developing a squeak in the rear of the car. It doesn't make the noise all the time but definitely under WOT. I can go over bad roads and it won't happen during normal driving. Seems to happen when the throttle is being used. Thinking I may need to re lube the LCAs. IIRC they need to be re lubricated after 500 miles of initial driving and I did take a trip to OKC two weekends ago. Any ideas?

No ideas outside of what you've stated but I'm interested, I have the same issue.

How long have you had the issue?

Few months, my car is loud so it's hard to hear until the sound bounces off at low speeds. I personally think my LCA's need some grease. I've checked all sorts of shit while under the car thinking something is loose.
My next move will be to replace the LCA bushings and confirm they're properly greased.

For the record mine is passenger rear.

Also, throttle + straight line seems to be when I can hear it.

Can you reproduce the noise by bouncing the rear suspension up and down?

My LCAs creak when the weather is cool and dry during suspension flexing, but not when it's warm and humid.

I posted this on the other forum and someone suggested to check the pinion angle. After driving to work this morning, 17 miles, under normal speed limits, the noise did not happen at all. Even over all types of undulations and crap. I take 183 to 820. So I am sure it isn't the actual suspension, maybe the driveshaft?

Figured it out. My driver's side axle back is slightly loose so the hangar/flange is vibrating against the rear axle.

Check your exhaust setup and see if there are any loose points.
