So, I am out going to get gas Sunday afternoon and some Jerk comes flying up behind me (I'm going 50-55 in a 65mph zone) doing at least 90-100 in an 80-85 Reg Cab Chevy Pickup. There is a car coming the other way and he attempts to pass. Long story short, he clips the front of my car trying to merge before a head on and sends my car spinning toward the shoulder. I went off into the grass, shrubs, and then a small tree. Of course the guy sped off and I have no information on the turd. The car still drives but I can barely turn the wheel. I am so ticked off. The only thing is now, I have to figure out today if my insurance will let me claim this as uninsured or under my normal insurance.

damn sorry about your luck man. Did you call and report it?

I didn't have my cell phone with me as the gas station is all of 5 min from the house. No one witnessed it nor did anyone stop. I waited 20 min then drove it back home believe it or not. It drove ok aside from not being able to turn the wheel due to the fender. I called the police and they told me I couldn't file a report because I moved the car from the scene. I told them I waited and had no way of getting a hold of anyone and did not want to leave the car and walk. So, I could not file a report 25 min after it happened and they are blowing it off. So, now, the guy gets away with it and I will probably end up paying big on this repair.

Dahm that sucks. Always glad to carry a dashcam even though I never had to pull the tape on it, just in case type thing.

Insurance will cover it and I doubt they will make it go up, looks close to 2k-3k of damage.

That's what I am thinking on the damage. I have yet to look at the suspension or underneath the car to see what else is damaged on it.

At least 2-3k. Lots of hit and runs lately.

I think I may end up investing in a dash cam the way my luck runs

Damn man...that sucks. I don't see why your insurance wouldn't let you file under uninsured since you don't know if the guy has any or not.

Any chance you could see him again in the area? Would be easy to match damage if there was paint transfer.

I highly suggest getting a GoPro as a dash cam.

What pissant PD was that? State law says to move your car from traffic to a safe spot before calling the police, so how is that any different? You need to contact your insurance company ASAP.

I already called the ins company...I will battle the adjuster to try and get this claimed as uninsured. I have never seen that vehicle before so I doubt I ever will again. The place he hit me is the same place where I hit the small tree so it is hard to see where he contacted me. The pd 8s Sherman.

Well, nearly 3 weeks later, good as new.

Total repair cost was $8068. Luckily my deductible was $250 but it still pissed me off either way. Just glad to be back on the road.

Couldn't tell there was any damage. Where did you take it to get fixed?

The Ford dealer here. They replaced the fender, bumper, supports, radiator support, condensor support, engine cradle, strut, wheel hub, wheel repair, paint and labor. There was alot under the car from going off in the ditch that was bent and damaged. It drives perfect again.
