So you just picked up a new SCT Tuner device. I’m sure you can’t wait to plug it into your OBDII port and unlock some extra horsepower in your Ford Mustang or SVT Lightning. Before you do this, I would highly suggest you follow along in this video and update your device before using it for the first time. This will ensure you have all the latest SCT software and firmware updates. This also ensures you get the most out of your hand held tuning device!
Now those of you who already have a SCT tuner, you can also take advantage of their firmware updates as well. Latest updates have unlocked the ability to hold more custom tunes and added updated preloaded tuning capabilities for your SN95 and S197 Mustang. We cover updating your current tuner in this tech video as well. Whether you already own one or just picked one up, the process of updating your SVT Lightning or Mustang tuner is the same procedure minus returning your vehicle to stock.
HOW TO UPDATE YOUR MUSTANG/LIGHTNING SCT TUNER:
Visit SCT Performance - More Power! Less Fuel! (http://www.SCTflash.com)
Click on “Product Updates”
Select your device
Enter Device Serial Number
Click Device Updater Software
Click "Run" in the pop-up window
Click “YES” in the next pop-up window to open installation wizard
Click “NEXT” in installation wizard
Click “Install” and then click “Finish” when installation is complete
With the software installed, plug in the supplied USB cable into the device
Now plug it into your computer
Open the SCT Updater Software. If it appears click “YES” in pop-up window
Click “Automatically Check for Updates”
If it needs to be updated, click “Update Device”
Allow all the updates to download before clicking exit and disconnecting
