So my 2012 has tall 3.31 gears from the factory, my old 2012 had 3.73's already installed when I got the car.. I'm wondering how much of a difference in acceleration there is on a street car with bolt ons, or how much power you need to make to narrow the gap.

Basically, I'm savoring my 17.5mpg and wondering if it is worth the change. (Don't really plan on tracking the car)

Thanks for the input guys!

Ive ran 3:73 cars from a dig they are quicker. On the hwy bout the same. I pull little i think because of not having to shift.

3.73s will help you more in the low end and low speed. I think 3.55 is a good median gear, but 3.31s definitely are nice to try and save a little gas sometimes.

I've been thinking on this for quite a while. I'll probably wait to get rid of my 3:31s for some 3:73s after I can quit daily driving it. I like my weekly average of 22-23mph right now.

There are many factors that you have to think of on gearing. Tire size (which can change), end result of the car and power level, what you want to do with the car. i know for my car and the tire i am running and the power level i look to achieve 3:73's are the best for right now.

I wanted to change my gears until I realized I can spin through third with my 3.31s. So I'm sticking with them for now.
