Had a great time yesterday at the autocross. Was a little warm outside but still a great time. I was able to compete in the Guns and Hoses event as well as run my GT so I had 16 total runs yesterday. I was able to place 2nd in both the Novice class with my GT and 2nd in the Guns and Hoses driving a Chevy Cruze loaned to us by Young Chevy. best part was we were able to raise over $1300 for families of fallen officers and firemen. My mom was in town and I forced her to ride along once. Her dad, my grandfather, used to build race cars from old 30s models and raced but my mom never was into cars and doesnt get how I am so into cars, I only met my grandpa a few times before he passed away when I was young and never knew about the race cars till after I was in the hobby. I was wanting more of a reaction out of her but she said she just closed her eyes most of the run lol anyways on to the videos

Damn, that looks like a lot of fun! I didn't know you could have a passenger too. I will have to bring the wife out with me when I give it a try. Well done, Ryan!

Damn dude. Lucky! Looks like you were able to get some pretty good speed on that course.

And 16 runs?! I'd probably be throwing up by the end of the day from motion sickness.

I've got my schedule clear for the event in September, have the RAI installed so rain won't prevent me from running, and am getting tuned at HPP this Wednesday, so I'll be ready to rock come September! :headbang:

That does look like fun. I've been working on my fox's suspension to get it to handle better but that is a long way off from where she sits now. Maybe one day I will be able to take it to an event like this.

Thanks my mom and sister both enjoyed it. The wife hasn't ridden yet but she was out there all day in the heat and didn't complain as much as yall did without even going lol

Awesome!! I will most likely not make the Sep event but Clint has told me there will be auto x at the mustang vs camero event in October. I will be there

even if your not that fast it is still a blast to try. Plenty of slow crappy cars out there running good times lol

Nice.

What have you done to get bumped into ESP? I'm hoping to run STX at some point.

My wheels being 9.5 wide and 275 tire made me esp. I actually should be in SM due to my LCAs and relocation brakets.

Looks like SCCA will move Mustangs to STU next year . Unlimited rim width, and 285 max tire.

I ran a few with ER back in the day. They had a reputation of being pretty loose (unlike the SCCA crowd, especially at the bigger events). As a novice, you'll probably get even more leeway. As you get more competive, you may not get away with as much. Your secret is safe with me (for now). ;)

I'm hoping to start back up soon. Potentially the ER event Sept 22. Pending funds, I'm thinking of buying 18" rims and 275/35/18 BFG Rivals. If that happens this year, I'd be in ESP and drop back down to STU in 2014. However, first priority is a set of Koni Adjustables and camber plates.

yea and there are a few guys trying to get LCAs and relo brackets added to the accepted mod list.

yea they never said anything and honestly they would never know that I had those if I didnt say something but I might as well run in SM now because thats where I will end up eventually with what I have planned lol

Make sure to come to the Mustang vs. Camaro event oct 5th. they will have autocross to go with the drag, thats my next event. I will be getting either new 18x10 drifts for all 4 corners with some Hankook RS-3 tires or some new 20" rims for the street and get some RS-3 tires for the 19"s I have now. I was going to get some Koni's first but my tires suck so bad I think I would benefit from tires first.

Tires are the biggest factor. long time ago, but read a magazine article (Grassroots Motorsports?) comparing a bone stock car vs a competive AutoX car. Of the 5 sec in difference, about 4.5 was the gummy tires.

That being said, I'm headed to the street tire class. 1 kid in college, and another coming up. Doing the financial math sucks. :banghead:
