How close was I? Posted this on 7/11 in the "lol" thread...

"Pwr on spray? I'm going to guess REAL close to 760 sae, give or take 10"

I think I heard what you made, math suggests I was REAL close... Did you get it done finally?

Congrats to everyone at True Street as well, Im sure you are all glad the car is finally finished and turned out as planned.

791 std right? What's the SAE # just for reference? Should be in the 77X range if my math is right...

it will probably make a little more in the morning cooled down, they doing anything else to the tune up, or does it look pretty solid?

Yea you've got 200 rw on me, don't think it's gonna be worth your gas.:winner_second_h4h:

Been a long road with a lot of trial and upgrades, but in the end it was worth it! Car is a monster, and should move out hard from a low roll!! I am wanting to say it is the most powerful coyote on nitrous? I have not looked very hard on that but a quick search did not turn up much.

downtime!

Best I can remember was Strictly Performances car (2011 GT). IIRC, it made 670 with a 250 shot (NOS direct port setup). The car went high 9's I believe.

Very nice job ya'll!

Denton is great on event nights and rentals.

Am I the only one that has never researched or cared what the difference in STD/SAE/etc... was?

800hp nitrous car should be FAST imo! What tire?

Congrats

Either you're not going on the right nights or you need to do more suspension work.

You go on a normal tnt or ricer night, you're going to have some problems.

I agree, a dyno number is nothing but a calculation that is never accurate as to what the engine makes. Every thing can effect the dyno number, trans, rearend, wheels, etc. too many variables.

Oh and he is on nitto nt-05r radials. My understanding is with 35 lbs of air it dead hooks around 30 mph on motor.

This past weekend at Ennis the track was terrible. Couple drivers said they will not return to Ennis for another race... Everyone I spoke with said they would have gotten just as much traction on a raw street surface..

the top three on the street outlaw list are pretty fast.

The Sonoma truck is a 4.70@160mph
the black nova runs 4.90ish
and the blue car of docs runs high 4.70's to low 4.80's

Those cars are very fast and in my opinion very dangerous for the no prep racing they are doing. Still fun to watch

I suspect those guys race on the street because most of them would fail the safety check on a legit track.

Murder nova been 4.70's. Those guys also running the widest slicks possible on there cars. Yes they are fast. But on the street the fastest car doesn't always win. I won drag and brag street outlaw championship few years ago with a car the made just over 300rwhp. All about the holeshot and who can hook up the best

That is a huge factor in a drag. So many drivers want to do a rolling start rather than get it from a dig. As we used to say, "Did you come to drag race or road race?"

Some of you have a different criteria for what constitutes a drag race than what I do. Even Wikipedia agrees with me:

"The race follows a straight course from a standing start over a measured distance, most commonly ¼ mile (1,320 ft (400 m)), with a shorter 1,000 ft (300 m) for some Top Fuel dragsters and funny cars, while 660 ft (200 m) (1/8 mi) is also popular in some circles"

The point of my 'dumb' saying is that it's not a drag unless it's from a dig.

Again.. thats NOT the dumb part.. the dumb part is calling Roll racing " road racing"..

last time i checked.. "road racing" was racing around a coarse, with turns and stuff like corners.. NOT straight line racing from a roll..

if your fantastic line was " did we come to Drag race or ROll race" it would make sense.. but at no point have i seen people go to the street to "road race".

just sayin..

And that was the reason I used the word 'even' in my post. It signifies the bottom-level, as in, "Even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while." If you want to call it a 'Roll Race', a 'Running Start Race', that's fine with me, but I will still call a 'Drag Race' as having a standing start. That's all.

Nice dyno numbers. The last time I went to Denton it hooked pretty well. I was on drag radials though. Good enough to get 1.55 60 ft. times.
