Anyone in the DFW area running the roush axle backs with a factory mid-pipe on their 5.0? There's only so many youtube videos i can listen too.... Roush is my first choice based on the research i've done, but I would really like to hear them in person before ordering. I am in Coppell if anyone local is running that setup? I also think the GT500 sounds really good with an x-pipe. Thanks!

haha that didn't take long... Good luck Joe. From talking to you, catback x/ roush. No warranty bs, simple jack stand install, ten fold over stock. Only thing I would hold off on doing is removing the resonators. X / AB's and if thats not loud enough have pipe welded in place..

or this http://dfw50s.com/showthread.php?t=1855 with an H.. sounds good with the reso's. Without them and OEM H is what I have. Not sure if you liked the way my car sounded, I dont really like it too much, but gt500's not loud enough IMO.

I have stock with just the roush ab. You can hear it if you come watch the DFW50s softball team get murdered Wednesday at 730 in Richardson.

My car came with the Roush AB off the lot and I've made some changes since then. Roush AB alone is somewhat loud, mainly only at WOT. Once I had the resonators deleted the car got real damn loud. Now I with the O/R X pipe the car is kind of retarded. I'm going to make some vids this week with the new set up but here are two that show what the sound was like with resonators deleted. Idle is actually pretty quiet with these mufflers on any set up you use.

I have Roush AB with stock everything else. Do you work on Coppell? I work off 635 and Midway so could be close to depending on where in Coppell.

Thanks for all of your feedback, its appreciated. I definitely think roush ab's with offroad x would be too loud. Im curious the difference in sound between gt500 with catted x-pipe vs roush ab factory midpipe.
Do you still think the roush's would be louder? I like the raspier old school flowmaster sound, without the drone, but not wake my neighbors when i leave for work every morning sound.

Not sure of the policy here about direct linking other forums..
If you go to www.allfordmust***s.com and search "inexpensive axle backs"
you'll find a really good thread with tons of video clips with X, H pipe with / without resonators etc

Are you wanting to go with something direct bolt-up, or are you alright with getting stuff welded up?

My exhaust setup cost me $300 total, including all installation. It should last me until I get headers, and even with the headers on all I have to do is slap in 2 cats, and I am set.

Are there any gains going to an offroad h pipe? Why not just get car deletes? Just a question.

roush AB's and resonator delete here.

I've found that by themselves roush AB's sound great....it's just when you start adding things that they get insanely loud and raspy, like an x pipe, cat delete, etc.
