Thanks guys!

Got some more work done today.

Since I was removing the K-Member, I decided to use the factory strut tower along with some come along straps to help hold the motor. I put them near the ends where it had more support from the towers. Worked perfect!

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8121/8690263087_89cbd65275_b.jpg

The crank pulley has 3 bars that I used 2 of them to hook to.
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7055/8691380576_4fd0790c9e_b.jpg

With the engine supported, I unhooked the steering and dropped the K-Member.
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7052/8690261755_fe1e3e9ef1_b.jpg

That left room to pull the oil pan off so I can have fittings put in properly without punching holes in it and using the tap. I am not a fan of that technique.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7051/8690261685_8efd5e26a3_b.jpg

By removing the K-Member and motor mounts, it made it much easier to get to the headers. For the passenger side I had to CAREFULLY coerce the A/C line a little to get to the front bolt. But it went easy enough with little drama.

Here's a good shot of the front factory Wideband O2's.

You also have 4 lug Cobra wheels, a whale tail from 1987, porno red interior with bright white captain chairs from Gary's rape van. I'll take you liking the black wheels with a grain of salt. :happy107:

Can't wait to see this done, Kevin is a master at this craft, it will look like Ford installed it yet all shiney.

I liked the black wheels too because of the graphics, but if it were my car I would have had paint matched white wheels... Always loved white wheels on white cars, wife had TONS of compliments on her old fox with white "Bullets"..

Good to see he's doing the oil lines the right way, the tapped pan thing is shitty, I had to do that with an old S-Trim. Does he have a timeline for when he wants to be done?

Grandpa

Kevin, you can feel better buddy. It got the Luke seal of approval that you are doing things correctly! *WHEW!*

He has no expectations of a schedule since he will only be able to work on it in his rare spare time. He travels for work during the week and then still has a family at home to spend time with on the weekends. He is also tuning part time to make the extra project money which obviously takes time away as well.

In short, it will be done when it gets done. Then it will be submitted for your all knowing approval.

No. I answered his question.

I'm looking forward to see what/how Kevin does the tuning on this thing. I know he's looking forward to tinkering with the tune as well. I'm thinking 700rw on 7lbs of boost should be an easy task on e85.

Should be a fun build. I am looking forward to it. I will keep you updated as it comes together.

I ordered bulk head fittings for the oil pan and ordered restrictors for the oil feed line to the turbos the other day.

I will get some pictures up tomorrow of the kit.

That's what I did on my fox. You have to buy the mild steel fitting though, right? I'm assuming the fittings he installed are aluminum, but could be wrong.

Emwun Garand

Yes.

Did you buy their titanium blanket too?

I got mine all mounted up but I've seen some horror stories on BMW forums regarding the DEI Titanium blanket disintegrating under heat. I 2000* coated the turbine housing so I'm hoping it's not an issue.

I know I'm just window shopping. I'll most likely never change my car to turbo I just like to look. My next phase is going to be getting the trunk smoothed and painted. Then I will start thinking about rims, I think a nice set of 18"s would look killer on my car. Speaking of rims did you ever decide on or started designing your new set?
