So i didnt share the event on the forum because of the time crunch, there was only a few days lead time. Anyways, we went to Camaro only car show in bedford. Cruised in with about 15-20 mustangs and showed them whats up. It was a great time and lots of fun. If you have any pics post em here. thanks!

First, we're not all "extremely uptight nazi moderators" over there. Some of us enjoy the friendly ribbing back and forth between car clubs (some would rather stop it before it gets bad). And I, for one, thought the OP's idea of a track day would have been pretty fun and pretty cool. The problem for me is that I'm down in SA and wouldn't be able to make it. I'm sure some of the other guys would still have a good time and would go.

Having said that, I wasn't there when you guys pulled in to Twin Peaks. Apparently, some of the guys thought it to be funny and some just the opposite. Sounds like you had some of the upset guys sound off in the thread. One of them decided to keep it going. Now I haven't read all of this thread and I read most of last nights C5 thread. With that, some guys will never be able to get along (which, IMO, is pretty sad). I enjoy the FRIENDLY ribbing back and forth and don't have an issue with it. I didn't close the thread and don't know how it got to that point (as I said, I didn't finish reading it....other things going on).

But I'd like to finish up with one thing.

We're all here for one main thing....the cars....and the cars bring the people together. I don't agree that it's two different mentalities. I think no matter where you go, you are going to have different mentalities. We have a few utter morons in the Camaro community just as I'm sure you have yours (this is nothing new). Those preconceived notions of "who" the other group are might hinder events like these. All I can suggest? Brush off those who are soley negative and just try to play nice. Those negative folks will eventually either turn their heads and walk away (leaving it alone) or might have a change of heart. Who knows.

Again, I for one, would have enjoyed it and would have liked to have been around to steer the thread in the right direction so maybe something like this could have happened.

For those that understand what I'm trying to say, thanks. I wish you guys well and maybe one day we'll see each other on the road. ;)

There was no disrespect intended on behalf of DFW50's but rather just wanting to build a relationship for some friendly rivalry competitive fun. I think your group was only a natural choice for it considering our brands have been competing for so very long now. You and your people are welcome here for some good natured fun. There is no reason just because we drive different cars we all can't have a good time together without it getting ugly.

I don't know how other data lines up against this, but with the same driver in both cars, pretty sure the Mustang would win that one. IRS will only help so much with their added weight.

all the comparisons ive seen up until 2013 had the mustang handling better, it wasn't until the zl1 and 1le's that they came out ahead. its all good though, only place to settle this is on the track.

That 2010-SS-RS posted a video comparing a Track Pack 5.0 to a 1LE. Talk about biased. He also said a Camaro would take a Mustang, stock for stock, in AutoX and seems to think it would win. I don't know how other data lines up against this, but with the same driver in both cars, pretty sure the Mustang would win that one. IRS will only help so much with their added weight.

Hey guys. A couple of old, slow Camaros will be up at Northstar tonight, (Ricekillers) if you guys want to come out and do some runs. I am not really into the BS and bickering. I think a little friendly banter back and forth is pretty funny actually. It is the little hoodless, duct taped Hondas with their turbos sounding like they about to explode that I do not like.

Last time I was there, there were diesel farm trucks throwing up all down the track, so it was a slow night .. So we may not see any cars really run..

Nice. The only 5th gen Camaros I've seen going 6s had about a hundred grand wrapped up in them... lol. I have yet to see a mildly modified SS get into the 7s. Maybe they do that, but I just haven't seen it.

Bryan's car didnt have 100k into it. it might now after it caught fire, but not when it was fairly bolt ons with juice. His is the exception though, that car was a freak imo. Most of them are turd buckets.

What do you consider mild? I have about 15K in mods, the largest being the LS3 conversion with the TVS2300 and I am running about 7.2 or there abouts in the 1/8th.

IMO, Mild = a stock engine with intake / tune / exhaust.

One guy with us at Rice killers last time just had a cam, tune and headers and I know he has run a 7.8 before but that is the
only one I have seen.
