I think I saw this car on CL a few months back, looks good. Our's needs a heater core too, it just started leaking.

Mine started leaking the day after I bought it, I bypassed for now - figured it would be warmer out by now. The car needs suspension, clutch and exhaust (clogged cats). But the interior and outside are in great shape, rear seat looks like it was never used. I'm gonna wait until next winter to replace the heater core, ac works great.

My heater works great but not sure if my a/c works. Won't be bad since I have a vert but in the middle of the summer I might want to put up the top and turn the a/c on so I'll have to check into that.

The AC worked on my vert, but it was pointless in the summertime. Even with a new top it leaked like a White House intern on Clinton's desk.

Its not that, its the fit and finish of the cars werent that great. As long as its blowing directly on you on high you can feel it but you can still feel the Texas summer heat blazing through the top still. At that point of the summer i ended up only driving it early mornings or at night otherwise it felt like I was being cooked alive.

I've been reading about fox tachs being off. Is that the reason you went with the aftermarket one on the dash or did you just want it? The reason I ask is I've been meaning to check to see if my tach is accurate or not.

That's what I've heard, that they read anywhere from 500 to 1000 rpms higher than your actually running. Might want to look into that before the car gets out of the shop

I didn't want to put a big ugly tach in my Cobra so I just put the 5800rpm fuse in the ignition box and it was fine. Never had a problem with it.

I'll have to look, I know the shift light under the dash is set for 5800. I'll have to look at the msd, it not easy on my car since its under the seat.

They are USUALLY 500 off reading higher than what's actually happening... I have my MSD provide the tach signal instead of the stock ignition, and its wired back to the stock tach. Its within 100 rpm now on the low side... 7200 limiter hit right about 7100-7150 on the tach. The vert is setup the same way. Much better looking than a huge 5 inch tach that doesnt fit on the tiny dash setup, and you get a better ignition to prevent misfires and increase mpg at the same time.

Run the tach lead to the input of the tach on the msd?

Toby and I had a mutual friend who died a couple years ago. He had a silver 93 lx coupe lowered on Saleen rep's. Your car lowered on the same wheels would look very similar (minus the front bumper)

u can test to make sure you did it right by putting in a lower rev limiter and seeing where it cuts out on the tach... just to make sure it's working right. it's just one wire, instead of it going wherever it goes from the factory (ECU?), you just splice it and send it to the msd output.:happy107:

http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/MSD-8352/1979-85-Mustang-50L-Ready-To-Run-Rpo-Billet-DistributorThat's actually a really good choice on distributors. Worked great on my last car. FOr the speedo bouncing, the first thing to check is the cable going into the speedo. It's just a plastic clip and can back out a bit making the speedo bounce. If that's not it, does the car have different (non stock) gears in the rear end? It came stock with 3.08's, so if someone put something else in there, you need a new gear on the trans end of the cable. Check LAte Model, they have a chart showing what color gear to run with whatever the rear end ratio is. Glad you kept the wheels by the way, looks great!

You mean I re-did the interior, added a 3000 dollar custom painted/carbon wrapped 12 point cage with window net and dual 400 dollar Simpson Camloc racing seat belts (one was for you), in floor subframes with custom outriggers for the cage to tie into, parachute, battery relocal in a mirror polished custom battery box, upgraded to a 4 bolt motor that has billet internals good for 3000 hp, went to twin turbo vs the laggy ass Vortech that was on it, fully CNC'd my heads that flow almost 400 cfm now, solid roller swap, removed about 200 lbs off the car, and new dual disc clutch (ordering from True street), all for nothing? It just took longer than I expected, and being out of the state and moving three times with inconsistent income didnt help the situation.

It will run in the next year or so, hoping for a mild 900 rw on pump gas, no meth, no nitrous, no e85 shit. I dont think it will put down much more than that on the street, but I will turn it up till I am scared of it regardless.:angels2:

I really don't mind the manual steering much, and most of my running around in this car is at night with the window down anyway, so I don't mind the lack of AC either. I plan on putting certain things back in this car (interior).
The yellow car will be the street car, and this will end up seeing more track duty. The main reason behind buying this car was the cage.

Guess I didn't post pics here of the '82, so here goes. Just a bone stock '82 Capri RS, with 53,000 miles on her. Bought from the original owner by a friend of mine to save, and ended up in my garage instead. Everything is still original, right down to the date coded radiator hoses, and everything works like it should. The only bad thing is the p/o cut the dash for a "modern" radio. It came with a period correct am/fm/8 track though, which will find it's way in there someday. I recently picked up a set of 16 holes for her, as well as a set of TRX wheels, and will be switching them out as the mood strikes me. She also came with all original documentation, including a letter from Eagle Lincoln Mercury congratulating the original owner on his purchase. The glovebox was also full of receipts from all the work done to the car over the years (oil changes, gas, basic maintenance, etc.).

my 1993 Cobra. Car is clean! Has an Rblock 331, 76mm turbo kit, and C6 trans. I HATE the trans and very much dislike the motor and turbo kit. Iffy on how I want to fix this car up. In an ideal world I would do a Griggs full suspension while keeping the car 4 lug, upgraded brakes, and do a H/C LS3 and TR6060....but that kind of kills the value of the car. Either way this is going to be an expensive build that I haven't decided to tackle yet.

Ideally I would do a 427+ ci SBF with a big direct port and a TR6060, but I just HATE SBF's with a passion. and that is 2-3x the cost of an LS motor

My 85 that currently has a 302 with basic bolt ons. Seriously considering engine swapping to a LS after owning my GTO.

Want! My dad is building a 79 pace car at this very moment. Its the 5.0 not the turbo 4 which is very rare. I really like this car and the Original 8 track is dope.

Mine is far from photo shoot worthy. Guy i bought it from painted it in his garage and the is over spray and paint runs everywhere. My priority is getting all the little stuff done to make it run how i want it. But I'm almost done with that.

I'd be down for some group pics though soon as long as mine is furthest from the camera :p
