First I'd like to say thanks to everyone who came out. We had a pretty good turnout considering the weather and short planning, some new faces and some regulars of course. For an unofficial event, it was a good turnout!

Next, I'd like to say..I need a gawd damn shifter! lol.

Big thanks to Nick for being a good sport for a fun, good natured rivalry. He technically won both races, but only because I missed 4th gear on both of our races. Our last past was both of our best passes and Nick barely won because I missed 4th..again. *sigh*. lol.

I didn't do too bad for the first time ever racing this car down the track. First pass I ran a 12.68 against TheHead (Christian). Second pass I ran a 13.34 because when I went to shift to 4th I went into second by accident so I shut it down. My last pass against Nick I ran a 12.50 again missing 4th. Before than Nick was running 13's on his borrowed tires, but he closed the deal on the last pass for bragging rights. He killed me on the tree due to my slow reaction times (due to no sleep the last week thanks to the new baby lol) but I would quickly catch and pass him before the 1/8th mile. I ran a 8.0 to his 8.4.

With some more seat time, proper air pressure in the DR's and a shifter, I have no doubt I can get it into the 11's.

Well done, Nick! It was fun buddy and you have the technical bragging rights for now. But we both know who has the faster car. :laughing1:

All joking aside, it went better than I thought it would. Nick has more mods than I do and I have a 100lbs on him with my fat ass. It was a good time and again I thank Nick for the fun rivalry. :)

I saw your little challenge, but I'm not interested. My car isn't a track whore, not sure that car will ever make a pass down the track. Of course, but you will probably only get one pass if they allow you through tech. under a 13.49 with a vert needs a rollbar.

Unless you go to Dallas Raceway, probably wont be very fun for you at Ennis.

That's kind of been my point. If I go I'll get one pass and be shut down. There is no reason to pay extra for one pass. I'll never put a cage in the vert so it will never see any track time. Now if it was a hatch or a coupe it would be a different story. I got the car to cruise and have fun.

They weren't exactly strict on tech. I didn't use the helmet once. lol.

I think you are missing the point of me poking fun at you. Rowing gears in a fox isn't exactly easy to start with let alone a blown one. From the videos it looked like burnouts were a big problem. Makes sense that Nic's 60' was so bad with drag radials, gotta heat those things up. I always did my burnouts in second, better wheel speed and easy to hold.

In all seriousness without any ball breaking, it wasn't the greatest night for racing. The pavement was cold and it was misting on and off. We practically had the track all to ourselves and it was fun even with the less than optimal conditions. In warmer weather, everyone would be running a couple of tenths faster at least.

As for the burnouts, I'm the same. Always in second gear using the heel/toe method. No line lock needed.

LOL, talk all the smack you like. Your drag radials were cold because you can't do a burnout. I had no problems getting mine hot, I just couldn't hit the gear, so we both suck! lol. It was the first time to the track with this car and the first time I had ever turned off the traction control on the damn thing. I only raced it ONCE before doing a short pull against Donnie. Left foot on the clutch like usual. With your right foot you turn it partially sideways using your ball of your foot pressing the brake down all the way then use your heel on the gas to get the RPMs up. Second gear, wait for a good amount of smoke then slowly let off the brake.

There was a LOT of people doing burnouts IN the water box which you shouldnt do. Just roll back into the water to get them wet then move forward in the rubber groove to do the burnout. After your burnout move forward to the bulbs to line up. DO NOT do a dry hop after your burn out.

LOL. I was the only one doing heel/toe burnouts without the car moving. Everyone else was doing it John Force style. Well, except for Nick who couldn't figure out how to do a burnout. lmao.

Here's a fun fact.........Steve lost to Nic. Lmao:owned::wtg:

He only won I missed, not because he's faster :

Race 1 -

R/T - Nic - .249 me - .547
60 ft - Nic - 2.015 me - 1.92
330ft - Nic - 5.640 me - 5.396
1/8th - Nic - 8.499 me - 8.146
MPH - Nic - 87.82 me - 89.81
1000ft - NIc - 10.915 me- 10.703

1/4 - Nic - 12.91 @ 113.34 me - 13.417 @ 75mph

Race 2-

R/T - nic - .140 me - .396 (he tree'd the shit out of me! lol)
60ft - Nic - 1.953 me 1.909
330ft - nic 5.398 me - 5.286
1/8- nic - 8.167 me- 8.051
MPH - nic - 88.97 me - 89.66
1000- 10.533 me- 10.490
1/4- 12.506 @114.21 me - 12.559 @109.74

As you can see, he beat me off the line every time, then I would reel him back, pass him and I'd miss a gear and he would barely squeak by. You can tell my MPH was way off at the 1/4 mark vs where I was faster at the 1/8th every time. It was fun close racing. If I hit the gear I can give him a much better race. I think it's pretty cool since he has so much more done that I do. :)

You have the Boss, CAI and a shifter over me. I admitted it, I sucked. /but the numbers dont lie. You didnt win because youhave the faster car but rather cuz I couldnt hit the gear at the end. I raped you through 1000ft. :headbang:

Is it fast? leaving like that Id hope its in the low 6s eigths high 9s qtr... Mine left like that maybe only 5 times in it's life, but it was twisted more due to no cage.

Man this is only the second 4 eye I've ever liked, the first being yours, lol.
It's just an LX. It's probably in the low 6 neighborhood with this combo.
It's just a fun street car to go out and tinker around with.

I appreciate the kind words, your car looks pretty damn clean to me. I need to find me some stock tail lights, where did you score yours from?

Low 6s is a fast car, esp if its 100% streetable with no quirks like no AC or powersteering. If mine runs in the 5.9s Ill be doing back flips because I dont forsee it taking off REAL hard from a stop like yours does...
